2013 has been a year of Solar Projects for SQE

SQE specialise in supporting solar and renewable energy projects with their health and safety and CDM, the following is a brief roundup of 2013 with a short video.

2013 has been an exceptionally busy year as we have worked with several solar companies, clients and their contractors, many of which were new to the UK and our domestic complexities. We’ve been successful in delivering health and safety support for over 100MW of renewable projects so as you can imagine, we know what we are doing.

2014 looks to be just as busy. We will be working on projects the length and breadth of the UK including wind power in Aberdeen, Scotland and solar farms in Cornwall. What is the winning formula? Well here’s some examples:

  • Competent support from a company that understand the sector, its technical nature and the time constraints imposed.
  • A can-do attitude that always results in a successful project for all parties.
  • All our documentation has been translated into Polish, French, German, Lithuanian, Hungarian, Italian and Spanish to ensure all foreign contractors are transitioned into the UK working environment safely
  • Problem solving before problems happen.
  • Understanding the needs of all duty holders through our experience in the sector, from Client Contractors and the self employed
  • Understanding the growth and importance of solar and renewable in terms of the UK’s need for alternative energy sources

Here’s a video with a bit more about it:

One example of a projects we’ve been working on is Garn Farm Solar project near Cardiff. This project has recently been in the news as it has now been sold before it has been built. We are working alongside the German contractors delivering this project demonstrating once again how we can transition overseas expertise into the UK market safely. One of the ways we’ve done this is by having all health and safety documentation translated as communication is at the heart of all great CDM and H&S.
