What does Scottish Solar Energy and SQE have in common? Over 100MW that’s what!

It’s not often that we get to compare what SQE health and safety consultants  is doing to that of an entire country. Here’s why:

Ofgem, the energy regulator, reported that Scotland now has 106MW of solar PV, a 36% rise since this time last year. Now more than 28,000 households, 465 businesses, 56 communities and 22 industrial sites have installed solar panels to take advantage of the surprising amount of solar radiation available.

Dr Anne-Marie Fuller, Business Development Executive covering solar for the Energy Technology Partnership and Chairperson of the Scottish Solar Energy Group said:

“Scotland might seem like an unlikely place for solar but if you look at a solar radiation map, Scotland receives about 80% and in some parts 90% of the solar energy of Germany, the world leader in solar deployment with about 35GW installed to date. So there is absolutely no reason we couldn’t be deploying significantly more solar if we really wanted to.”

SQE safety has also helped to deliver 100MW of Solar projects. In 2013 we worked on projects throughout the UK from Aberdeen to Cornwall. You can read more about last year in this blog post:
